Writing Quote and New Rule

Since nightrider101 has taken off to Panama, I'll be the one to give you the quote for this week. First though, I'll give you a new rule for the case that you fail to do the challenge and want to try again:

You can start again with the same story, but there must be at least half a year in between the failing and the new start.
If you could just try again right away, it would kind of defeat the purpose.
You can, however, try another of your WIPs anytime you like.

And you can ignore that you already failed and just keep writing the story in question. My respect if you do. But there'll be no reward at the end.

In the face of our rather sad statistics after the first month is over, I'll give you this quote:

Ink and paper are sometimes passionate lovers, oftentimes brother and sister, and occasionally mortal enemies.

- Emme Woodhull-Bäche

True Words!

Mod Post: Affiliate and Writing Quote

Since a few days ago, as some of you might have already seen on our profile page, this community is affiliated with fandom_betas - the perfect place for you to look if you need someone to ckeck over your stories.

Also, I have a new writing quote for you - words of wisdom from an author whose way of writing I adore:

"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you."
- Ray Bradbury

Five minutes later, Vimes was running in circles around the house.
Hello there! I'm your other friendly neighborhood moderator and struggling fanfic author nightrider101.

As vail_kagami said, we want this group to be successful, so any thoughts on how we can inspire you and offer assistance in finishing those pesky WIPs, just let us know.

Personally, I'm a sucker for a good quote so I thought I'd post one every week related to writing. This is one way I find inspiration.

I certainly don't want to post merely for the sake of hearing myself talk - trust me, I'm not that interesting - so if no one is interested, just let me know and I won't waste your time.

Week 1

There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.

--Red Smith

Perhaps that's not the most inspirational quote in the world, but it's meant to convey - we understand!

Starting Post: When Worlds Collide
